Arizona gas prices are increasing, but not as much as the national average.
The average retail gasoline prices in Arizona have risen 1.6 cents per gallon last week, averaging $2.23 per gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 2,269 gas outlets in the state.
The national average has increased 4.3 cents per gallon last week to $2.32 per gallon, according to the gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Including, the change in gas prices in the state last week. The prices yesterday were 11.5 cents per gallon, which is higher than the same day one year ago and are 3.9 cents/ gallon, during a month ago.
The nationwide average has increased to 0.8 cents per gallon, during the last month and stands at 26.5 cents per gallon higher than this day an year ago.
According to GasBuddy data, gasoline prices on April 3 in Arizona have ranged widely over the last five years:
2016: $2.12/g
2015: $2.34/g
2014: $3.37/g
2013: $3.66/g
2012: $3.88/g
Areas near Arizona and their current gas price:
Las Vegas- $2.63/g, up 1.1 cents per gallon from last week's $2.62/g.
Phoenix- $2.21/g, up 2.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.18/g.
Tucson- $2.16/g, up 1.3 cents per gallon from last week's $2.15/g.
A senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy, Patrick DeHaan told "We long anticipated seeing gasoline prices beginning to rise en mass in the spring, but uncharacteristically, it took until nearly April Fool's Day for it to begin. There's no fooling this time- the rally in prices does seem to be more credible as oil and gasoline markets rebound."
