Metro rail works in Hyderabad are going on in full swing. The first pillar of the elevated metro rail project in Hyderabad and Secunderabad will be constructed in the last week of April in Uppal area of Hyderabad. Notably, Uppal is one of the busiest centres of the city that’s close by to both Hyderabad and Secunderabad. This is going to be the first pillar with eight metres tall and 1.8 meters wide. This area is the part of the third metro line connecting Nagole and Shilparamam (27.51 kilometres). Apparently, seven stations—Uppal, Survey of Inida, NGRI, Habsiguda, Tarnaka and Mettuguda—will be built initially. The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) Managing Director, NVS Reddy has said that there was sufficient space for barricading as electric poles were shifted besides widening the culverts.
It has to be mentioned here that the Centre has granted as much as Rs.18. 76 lakh only for studying on improving the pedestrian facilities. Although the ongoing metro-rail work in the city has become a pain in the head to those who commute on their own vehicles, the project—once finished—will not only make the city look beautiful, but also bring smiles on thousands of people who struggle hours together on the bus to reach from one corner of the city to the other.
