The spirit of annual celebration is in the air with everyplace, right from Chandler to Carefree to Litchfield Park are hosting gala festivals. So hop into any of these fests and make your October an happening one. We bring you a list of some of the most happening Oktoberfests in the city.
A trio of local groups will host an Oktoberfest celebration at Fountain Park this year that will be marked by German music and food and beer for purchase. It' being hosted by the Southwest German Society, AMVETS Post 7 and the Fountain Hills Elks Lodge No. 2846.
Details: 5-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. Fountain Park, East of Saguaro Boulevard between the Avenue of the Fountains and Palisades Boulevard. $5, free for age 11 or younger and for anyone in traditional German garb. 480-816-5100, fh.az.gov.
Litchfield Park will host “Feiern sie Oktoberfest,” with music by Denny and the Polka Dots on the lawn of the Wigwam, a costume contest, games and authentic German beer and food for purchase.

The city and SanTan Brewing Co. has called for a traditional Oktoberfest celebration that includes bratwursts and beer for purchase, polkas, a brat-eating contest and a kids zone. The Expendables will perform, and men will compete in keg-stacking contests and tricycle races.
