•    Lord Vishnu, who goes to sleep on Ashadha suddha ekadashi and wakes-up on Karthika suddha ekadashi
•    On Karthika pournami, Tripurasuras were killed by lord Shiva to protect the World
•    In Karthika masam, Holy Ganga enters into all rivers, canals, ponds and wells.
•    Many devotes take Ayyappa deeksha in Karthika masam and is continued up to Makara Sankranthi (Jan 15th)
