Superstar Rajinikanth is a happy man these days. The actor has been completely healthy and is said to have recovered. The actor also wrapped up the shoot of his next film titled 2.0 which is said to be the costliest Indian film. Directed by Shankar, the movie features Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the other lead roles. The film will be high on graphics and is said to be the sequel for Robo. Lyca Productions are producing the film and AR Rahman is composing the tunes. Rajinikanth even wrapped up the dubbing work for his part recently and the last song has been canned in a specially erected set in Chennai.

The actor signed his next film in the direction of PA Ranjith who earlier directed Kabali. The movie has been titled Kaala and is said to be a gangster drama. Rajinikanth will be essaying the role of a gangster in this film which is based in Mumbai. Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani and Eswari Rao will have other interesting roles in this film. Massive set reprising the Dharavi slum in Mumbai has been reprised in Chennai and the most of the film’s shoot is taking place there.

70% of the film’s shoot has been wrapped up and the makers are keen on releasing Kaala during early summer next year. Rajinikanth is said to wrap up the entire shoot of the film by the end of October. Santosh Narayanan is composing the music and the first look posters revealing the look of Rajinikanth created huge sensation. Dhanush is bankrolling Kaala  on Wunderbar Films banner. The film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages.
