Director Sudha Kongara and Suriya are teaming up once again for their next project, following the success of their previous collaboration, Soorarai Potru. The shooting for the film is scheduled to begin in January 2024, as per influencer Amutha Bharathi's recent update. The auspicious pooja ceremony is slated to take place in the third week of January, coinciding with the festive season of Pongal. The film's set work is currently underway at Madurai American College, with plans for additional schedules in Trichy, Chidambaram, and other locations.
Suriya is putting in great effort to prepare for his role as a college student in the film. Renowned music composer GV Prakash has composed four songs for the movie, two of which have already been fully developed and recorded. Recently, GV Prakash Kumar shared a photo of himself with director Sudha Kongara and singer Dhee, celebrating the completion of their first recording session for the film. This film also marks GV Prakash's 100th musical project since he began his career in 2006.
In a tale centered around the protests of the 1960s, we delve into the resistance against the imposition of Hindi in Tamil Nadu, disregarding the widely spoken Tamil language. Our protagonist, Suriya, takes on the role of a college student, navigating the realm of college politics and societal structures. To bring this story to life, esteemed actors such as Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Nazim, and Vijay Varma have been enlisted for pivotal roles, as revealed in an earlier announcement accompanied by a captivating motion poster.
Amidst all this, Suriya is currently preparing for the final shoots of his upcoming film, Kanguva, helmed by director Siva. This film is set to be the epitome of extravagance in Tamil cinema, boasting the Tamil debuts of renowned actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. Audiences can anticipate its release in the first half of 2024.
Furthermore, Suriya is also expected to collaborate with director Vetrimaaran for their highly awaited project, Vaadivaasal. However, due to the director's prior commitments, the film is experiencing a slight delay in its pre-production phase.
