Actor Dhanush recently unveiled the poster for the film Ilayaraaja, where he portrays the renowned music director Isaignani Ilayaraaja. The poster showcases a young man entering Chennai with a bag holding his belongings, resembling an antique postcard. Along with the poster, the actor expressed his gratitude by stating, "Honoured." During an interview, Dhanush discussed his role as Ilayaraaja in the biopic titled Ilaiyaraaja. He shared his thoughts, saying, "Your thoughts shape your reality. Manifesting. When many of us struggle to sleep at night, we find solace in Ilaiyaraaja's melodies. I have spent countless nights imagining how it would feel to portray Ilaiyaraaja sir, constantly replaying those scenes in my mind. Manifesting."

Furthermore, the actor expressed his aspiration to one day portray superstar Rajinikanth in a biopic. Ilayaraaja is directed by Arun Matheswaran, known for the film Captain Miller. Despite considering himself a devoted admirer of Ilayaraaja, Dhanush does not see portraying the music director as a challenge, as he believes, "the music itself will guide me." The film will feature music composed by the maestro himself, with cinematography by Nirav Shah. Connekkt Media, PK Prime Production, and Mercuri Movies are collaborating on the creation of a film. This movie will be available in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Dhanush is set to appear in his next project called Raayan, alongside Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.
