Maverick designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee will close the winter-festive edition of country's biggest fashion event, the Lakme Fashion Week 2013, to be held from August 23-27.

The 39-year-old designer from Kolkata has been selected as the grand finale designer of the event.

Sabyasachi, a NIFT alumni and a renowned name in both ramp and movie world, have been heaped praises for his signature style. The designer, lately drew a lot of buzz, for styling Bollywood actress Vidya Balan's look for the 66th Cannes International Film Festival.

Feted for  his neo-traditional designs, Sabyasachi said: "Presenting my collection at LFW is always a special occasion. This (LFW) is where I made my debut as a designer, which provided me with a platform to be recognised by the world of fashion. Returning as a Grand Finale designer after five years is very exciting. The show promises to be truly grand.”

Interestingly, Sabyasachi is returning to LFW after a long hiatus.
