Are you going metal over dental? If so, it's time to pay heed to the first sign of tooth decaying. You never know, a visit to the dentist in time might just help you save your teeth.
Demineralisation is one of the first signs of tooth decay. So if you notice chalky white discoloration or brownish black pits on your teeth, it's time to remineralise them. Rush to a dentist to know how.
While orthodox dentistry harps on what foods bacteria might be feeding off on, “the solution lies in realizing what food you might be feeding the bacteria.”
According to dentist Dr Pooja Gunjikar, sugary and acidic food boost plaque, setting off demineralisation. "
For instance, eating chocolates makes your pH level drop, which causes formation of acids that erode the enamel of your teeth," she says.
Also, load up on calcium and phosphorous rich foods if you want to have healthy teeth.
"Calcium and phosphorous help form hydroxyapatite in the enamel, which replenishes the teeth's molecular structure," she says.
