Emotional dumping is the unhealthy practice of forcing emotions onto another person without respecting their boundaries or asking for their consent. Partner emotional abuse usually occurs in relationships. “Unlike a healthy emotional exchange, where both parties have a balanced exchange, emotional dumping is one-sided. A person who refuses to communicate may not be open to feedback or aware of the effect their comments have on the listener. “This can happen and leave the listener feeling depressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained,” says therapist Linda. Here are some signs of emotional stuffiness to be aware of. Emotional padding means talking about the same thing over and over again without asking for new perspectives. In general, emotional content can overwhelm the listener. Not. It can be one-sided and persist for a long time. It's about getting stuck in a cycle of discomfort. There is no need for self-reflection and divine consciousness. When a person is emotionally overwhelmed, they spiral into overthinking without asking for help, solutions, or accountability.
