Indian and Chinese troops were locked in a 73-day-long stand-off in Doklam since June 16 after the Indian side stopped the building of a road in the disputed area by the Chinese Army. On August 28, 2017, with Mr. Ajit Doval negotiations with Chinese Counterpart, it was announced that India and China have mutually agreed to a speedy disengagement on the Doklam plateau bringing to an end a military face-off that lasted for close to three months.
