Curfew would be relaxed in riot hit areas of Madannapet and Saidabad of Hyderabad on Thursday, the police said.  The curfew relaxation timings are from 9 AM to 5 PM. This news seemed to have brought relief to many old city residents.

It may be noted that the curfew was relaxed for about four hours between 11 AM and 3 PM on Tuesday in these areas keeping in view the problems being faced by the public for the past two days. If the situation continues to be peaceful then the police are likely to life the curfew permanently in presumably two days, sources said.

It is known that communal clashes broke out in peaceful Hyderabad four days ago at several worship places in Madannapet and Saidabad areas. To control the situation, Hyderabad police that plunged into the action has imposed CrPC Sec 144 in order to maintain law and order besides imposing curfew in these two areas where riots took place. Although the situation limped back to normalcy in almost all areas of Hyderabad within a day after riots took place, tense atmosphere still prevails in the above mentioned areas due to the ongoing curfew. The police, on the other hand, took a couple of people into their custody after they acquired key documents to prove that miscreants were guilty of the offence. (Phani)
