Even as Sri Lanka and New Zealand are set to clash in the semi final match of the 2011 cricket world cup at Colombo tomorrow, Captain Kumara Sangakkara told a media conference in Colombo this morning that the participation of spinner Muttaiah Muralidharan in the match has become doubtful.
He said Muttaiah was suffering from multiple injuries after straining a hamstring in the last group match against New Zealand.
Muttaiah also aggravated a quadriceps muscle in the quarter final match with England, he said. Though Muttaiah was seen doing some practice at the stadium today, he certainly looked weak physically.
Sangakkara said they will recall pace bower Nuwan Kulasekhar into the team in place of Muralidharan if he is not found fit for the match.
