Zaheer Khan Waves Good Bye To International CricketCricket

Zaheer Khan has confirmed his decision to bid farewell to international cricket through social media and will continue playing domestic cricket till IPL 9. Earlier, IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla posted regarding the impending announcement by the left-arm medium-pacer, in his twitter account.

The 37-year-old cricketer made his confirmation by tweeting, “I bid adieu to my career in international cricket. I look forward to signing off with IPL 9. #ZaksNewBeginning”

The cricketer last played in February 2014 for India in Wellington against New Zealand. He was on the sidelines from then because of low form and persistent injuries. He was not named in first two Ranji matches of Mumbai in the on-going series and even missed on the previous one because of a shoulder injury.

In IPL 8 Zaheer played for Delhi Daredevils, during which he features in seven games and picked seven wickets. In 2011 World Cup triumph of India, Zaheer earned a label of top performer picking 21 wickets in the tournament.

On the whole, Zaheer played 92 Tests for India, picked 311 wickets with 32.94 average. He played in 200 ODIs picking 282 wickets with an average of 29.43, besides picking 17 wickets in 17 T20Is.
