After a defeat in the first one-day international, Team India bounced back in the crucial second ODI and reported a seven-wicket victory and leveled the ODI series against South Africa. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. The team registered a remarkable total of 278 for the loss of seven wickets in their 50 overs. Aiden Markram (79), Reeza Hendricks (74) and David Miller (35 not out) are the top scorers for the side. Mohammed Siraj (3/38), Shardul Thakur (1/36) and Kuldeep Yadav (1/49) bagged the wickets among the Indian bowlers. It was not an easy chase for Team India.

But the Indian batsmen completed the chase in 45.5 overs with seven wickets left. Shreyas Iyer (113 not out) is the top scorer of the team and Ishan Kishan (93) and Sanju Samson (30 not out) are the other top scorers among the Indian batsmen. India lost just three wickets in total. Wayne Parnell (1/44), Imaad Fortuin (1/52) and Kagiso Rabada (1/59) took the wickets among the South African bowlers. Shreyas Iyer has been awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding knock. The third and the decider ODI will take place tomorrow in Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Team India will then play the World Cup T20 series in Australia and it commences in October.
