In a thriller, the second test match between India and Pakistan ended up on a happy note for Team India. Chasing a target of 145, Indian batsmen had to struggle badly to complete the chase. It was Ravichandran Ashwin who made things easy in the last overs with his 42-not-out knock. India swept the test series by 2-0 against Bangladesh. The host won the toss and elected to bat first in their first innings. Bangladesh tumbled down for 227 in their first innings. Mominul Haque (84) and Mushfiqur Rahim (26) are the top scorers for the side. Umesh Yadav (4/25) and Ravichandran Ashwin (4/71) bagged the wickets among the Indian bowlers. India scored 314 in their first innings. Rishabh Pant (93), and Shreyas Iyer (87) are the top scorers among the Indian batsmen.
Taijul Islam (4/74) and Shakib Al Hasan (4/79) took the wickets for Bangladesh. The team scored 231 runs in their second innings and India had to chase a minimal total of 145. Litton Das (73) and Zakir Hasan (51) brought a respectable total for Bangladesh. Axar Patel (3/68) and Mohammed Siraj (2/41) took the wickets. Indian top order tumbled down in the chase. Ravichandran Ashwin (42 not out) and Axar Patel (34) are the top scorers among the Indian batsmen. Ravichandran Ashwin has been named as the Player of the Match and Cheteshwar Pujara is awarded with the Player of the Series.
