The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) president, Mohsin Naqvi, stated that he is still waiting for a response from the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the Indian cricket board's (BCCI) refusal to play the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. The BCCI had previously informed the ICC that it will not send its national team to Pakistan and wants the matches to be held in a third country. However, the PCB has rejected the hybrid model proposed by the BCCI and has sought clarity from the ICC on why India does not want to travel to Pakistan. India has not played in Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The ICC event is scheduled for February-March. Naqvi said that if India has any concerns about sending its team to Pakistan, they should discuss them with the PCB, and the issues will be addressed. He emphasized that there is no question of following the hybrid model, and the Champions Trophy will take place in Pakistan, as the country's pride and respect are the priority.

The PCB official stated that they will not accept a hybrid model for hosting the ICC event. They are waiting for the ICC to announce the schedule as soon as possible. The PCB has sent a letter to the ICC regarding the BCCI's decision not to send its team to Pakistan. The PCB is in direct communication with the ICC and is awaiting their response to move forward. The official mentioned that each cricket board is independent and has its own say, and the ICC should also consider its credibility as it represents all cricket boards globally.
