The HMD Key launched on Thursday in select global markets. As a bargain, the new phone comes with 4G connectivity. It is powered by the Unisoc 9832E chipset and runs Android 14 Go version. The phone has an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus support, LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The phone is IP52 rated and provides protection against dust and splashes. The company is yet to confirm whether the phone will be launched in India. The HMD Key is priced at £59 (roughly Rs. 6,300) in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The company has not yet provided information on the phone's availability in other regions. The phone is available in two colors - Icy Blue and Midnight Black. The HMD Key has a 6.52-inch display with a resolution of 576 x 1280 pixels, a 60 Hz refresh rate, 460 nits peak brightness, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a Unisac 9832E chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It supports up to 2 GB of additional virtual RAM and up to 128 GB of storage expansion via microSD card. The phone comes with Android 14 Go version. Users are guaranteed to receive all quarterly security updates every two years.
In terms of optics, the HMD Key has an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. The front-facing camera is located in the central waterdrop notch and has a 5-megapixel sensor. The main camera supports several picture modes, including portrait, night, slow motion, slow motion and panorama. The HMD Key is powered by a 4000mAh battery that supports 10W wired charging via the USB Type-C port. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, FM, GPS, AGPS, Galileo and a 3.5mm audio jack. The design of the phone has IP52 dust and splash resistance. It measures 166.4 x 76.9 x 8.95 mm and weighs 185.4 grams.
