Samsung has not made the price of its latest smartphone that it "unpacked" less than a week ago official but Indian online retailer Souk has no qualms claiming a premium price of Rs 59,990 for pre-ordering the phone.
For Rs 59,990, you have the 8 core variant with 16 GB of onboard memory on pre-order. On the listing, it is mentioned that the final price couldn't exceed Rs 64,900 and that the seller will send the phone within 45 days of the order. 65K for a phone? That's plain crazy.
Buyers have the option of EMI, and installments for three months are divided into Rs 19,997 each. However, that is not the only option, there are pre-order prices that are at Rs 45,000 for the handset but the orders are not being accepted right now. In May, the phone will start retailing, only a year after the Samsung Galaxy SIII hit the market.
Twitter is enraged while the prices listed are so high. A few people have gone straight from definite buy to a compelte no-no. Other wished they had diamonds studded with the phone for the price. Mockery comparing the price to Blackberry phones ensued.
