Gone are the days when you had to write down every word your boss said in a meeting. Google is stepping up these efforts with the latest “Take Notes for Me” feature in Google Meet. This new AI-powered tool is designed to automatically capture all the key points of your meeting, allowing you to fully focus on the discussion without worrying about missing important details. After the meeting, these notes are neatly organized in a Google Docs file and attached to the calendar event, making them easily accessible later by everyone in your organization. Take Notes for Me is a tool in Google Meet that automatically generates meeting notes so participants can focus on discussions, collaboration, and presentations. After the meeting, these notes are saved to a Google Docs document and attached to the appropriate calendar event. Notes are accessible to participants in the same organization, ensuring important details are recorded and easily available for follow-up. Enabling this feature captures meeting highlights and summaries in real time. If someone joins the meeting late, you can use the past review feature. After the meeting, notes are emailed to the meeting organizer and the person who enabled the feature, providing a convenient summary. If the meeting is recorded or transcribed, these recordings and transcriptions are linked in the notes document to provide a comprehensive report of the meeting.
The main advantage of this feature is that it allows users to focus more on the meeting without the fear of losing important information. By automating the note-taking process, participants can focus on conversations and collaboration, knowing that AI is recording everything in the background. This feature is particularly useful for large or complex meetings where it is difficult to follow the discussions. Take Notes for Me is available to Google Workspace customers with Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or the AI Meetings and Messaging add-on. For administrators, this feature is enabled by default and can be managed at the organizational unit (OU) or group level. End users can pre-enable this via a calendar invite so meeting notes are automatically recorded. The rollout of this feature will be gradual and it will take up to 15 days for all users to see it. It is available to customers with instant and scheduled publishing domains. Google Meet's Notes feature is a powerful tool that simplifies the meeting process and allows users to stay focused while taking AI notes.
