The CBI special court at Nampally in Hyderabad today extended till March 16 the judicial remand of Vijayasai reddy, auditor and Man-Friday of the YSR congress party president YS Jaganmohan reddy.
Vijayasai, an accused in the illegal properties case involving Jagan, also filed a bail petition in the court. The court adjourned till March 16 further hearing on his bail plea after the initial arguments.
Vijayasai counsel Sunil Kumar argued before the court that his client is not a public servant and his role was limited to advising Jagan as an auditor. “The section 409 IPC doesn’t apply to him since he is only an auditor,” said his counsel.
Vijayasai reddy sought to impress the court that it was more than two months since he was arrested and he could be granted bail now. However, the special judge Nagamaruthi Sarma was not impressed with the argument and adjourned the case. (J)
