The assembly had at last decided to discuss the long impending issue, `Corruption’ after chaotic uproars in the house yesterday. The speaker Nadendla Manohar today in the assembly issued permission to discuss about corruption in the zero hour. But the point that could not be gulped by the critics was that the permission was only for half an hour and the remaining would be about the discussions on BAC meeting.

Yesterday in the assembly Telugu Desam Party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu demanded that why there was a delay in discussion about the notice received by ministers in the assembly. The Left Parties also blamed the governments that they will not expose the 26 Government Orders which are in controversy. Adding that, those GOs will expose the lapses of the government hence the reluctance. The Lok Satta Chief also criticized the government and the oppositions of wasting time on unrelated issues, instead of concentrating on the impending issues the state is affected by.

It may be noted last week a Supreme Court Bench issued the notices to six Ministers and 8 IAS officers.  The notices sought their stands on the petition filed by an advocate hailing from Nellore district, P. Sudhakar Reddy, who alleged that 26 Government Orders were issued by them in violation of the law. The Ministers are P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, J. Geetha Reddy, Dharmana Prasada Rao, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Kanna Lakshminarayana and Mopidevi Venkataramana, all of whom held important portfolios even in the erstwhile Cabinet of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy when the controversial orders were issued. The eight IAS officers in the dock are: S.V. Prasad (now retired), C.V.S.K. Sarma, M. Samuel, Y. Srilakshmi, Adityanath Das, K. Ratna Prabha, B. Sam Bob, Manmohan Singh, who headed the Revenue, Municipal Administration, Infrastructure & Investments, Industries & Commerce and Irrigation Departments.  (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
