SC notices reach tainted ministers, IAS officials

Six ministers and 8 IAS officers today received notices from the Supreme Court seeking explanations for their role in issuance of 26 GOs during the regime of the YSR.

A Nellore based advocate filed an SLP (Special Leave Petition) in the apex court seeking directions to the CBI to investigate their role in issuance of GOs which have become controversial as they were linked to the illegal wealth of the YSR Congress party.

The illegal assets case involving Jagan is already being probed by the CBI under the orders of the state high court.

The Supreme Court issued notices seeking replies as to why they too can’t be investigated along with others in the Jagan case. Ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao, Geeta Reddy, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, Mopidevi Venkataramana and Ponnala Lakshmaiah received the notices.

Immediately after receiving the notices, ministers Kanna Lakshminarayana and Dharmana Prasada Rao held consultations with CM Kirankumar reddy. (J)
