The much speculation of Telugu Desam Party fielding a veteran star whose recently held function was attended by the TDP Supremo N Chandrababu Naidu had ended. No more rumors and the TDP party announced its candidate for the divine town as Chedalawada Krishnamurthi. The announcement was made as Mr Babu launched his campaign for the by-polls from Alipiri the foothills of the temple. The TDP launched its campaign early today after the party Supremo had his darshan of the Lord Sri Venkateswara with his consorts, on the seven hills. It was a sentiment of the party.

It may be noted that in 2003 it was at Alipiri tollgate that the Maoists attacked the TDP leader’s convoy with a massive blast. Then, Bojjala Krsihna Reddy Krishnamurthi and Rajasekhar accompanied him. All of them had a miracle escape. Today also all the three along with Mr Babu visited the holy shrine. Speaking after the darshan Mr Babu said that it was the Lord’s blessing, which has helped them escape the attack.

Further, the TDP Supremo announced the name of the candidate for the by-poll. He said that he was confident that the party would win the seat. This win would be the seed for the massive win to power in the forthcoming general polls in 2014. The critics, in spite of turbulent atmosphere within, appreciated the confidence of the TDP Chief.
