IT minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah has said that the state government is going to hold grand celebrations in historic Warangal town on account of the famous temple Ramappa completing its 800th year of formation.
To discuss as to how to hold this celebrations, ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Vatti Vasanth Kumar and chief whip Gandra Venkataramana along with some MLAs and officials of Warangal district have conducted a meeting at Paryatak Bhavan in Hyderabad. Hailing the greatness of Warangal, Ponnala Lakshmaiah has said that Warangal was a town with great history and cultural heritage.
It is reflection of royalty of erstwhile Kakatiya Kings. Notably, the thousand pillar temple, Ramappa temple, Khila Warangal (fort) occupied importance place in AP Tourism dictionary. Daily thousands of tourists throng these places to have a glimpse of the architectural beauty of the kings.
These sites not only attract tourists but even film makers who capture the architectural beauty in their camera lens. While these sites in Warangal have already recognized by the archeology department as heritage sites, minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah has said that the government would try and get international recognition to Ramappa Temple, thousand pillar temple and Warangal fort.
These celebrations that will kick start in the end of 2012 will conclude in 2013. He has also stated that a GO was passed in 2010 for holding celebrations at these places.(Phani)
