Babu turns 63

The TDP supremo and former chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu-who tagged himself as the hitech chief minister-has today turned 63.

Chandrababu Naidu-who usually celebrates his birthday amidst his party members by cutting cake-has said that he would not be celebrating his birthday this year since people in the state were suffering from problems, said Party sources. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the party members to extend their concern for the farmers facing tough time due to frequent power cuts.

Babu has pointed out that the government was unable to help farmers who had to witness heavy loss due to the drought situation in the state. He took on the government alleging that it was hitting on the stomachs of farmers and daily wage labourers.

Born in Narevari Palle, a small village in Chittoor district, on April 20, 1950 to a shepherd, Chandrababu Naidu hailed from a poor background.

He had to travel more than a kilometre to attend the primary school due to lack of proper educational facilities in his village. With his keen interest in education, Babu completed his B.A in 1972 and then M.A in Economics in 1974 from Sri Venkateshwara University in Tirupati. He has even enrolled into Ph.D but eventually discontinued to join active politics. (Phani)
