Telangana state issue has rocked the parliament and stalled the proceeding on the first day of the second part of the Budget Session of Parliament. The Lok Sabha was adjourned the moment in began in the morning after uproar over Telanganaissue.
The MPs from Telangana region rushed towards the speaker’s podium and demanded the speaker to suspend the question hour and permit a discussion on Telangana issue. It may recalled that TDP MPs from Telangana region submitted a request letter to the speaker Meira Kumar asking her to allow discussion on Telangana.
It may be noted that even left parties were pressing for the suspension of question hour although they demanded a discussion on price rise.
The Congress MPs too plunged into the action and demanded the separate state and displayed placards in the Lok Sabha. The union home minister, Chidambaram and Parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Kumar Bansal tried to persuade the Congress leaders to calm down, but to no avail.
The moment speaker made obituary references to former members of the house, Dinesh Pratap Singh and NKP Salve, the left party leaders came out of their seats demanding discussion on price rise.
The speaker Meira Kumar, however, promised that she would allow to discuss on Telangana issue in Zero Hour. She soon adjourned the housed to 2 PM. (Phani)
