In the wake of recent terror attacks that shook different parts of the country, the Mumbai Police has announced high alert in the city. The officials have asked hotels, hospitals, malls, multiplexes, schools and other public places to be more vigilant and beef up their surveillance by installing CCTV cameras.

The  advisory was issued following recent major terror threats in the city. The police have already launched two initiatives — Operation Bravo and Mumbai Kavacch and established anti-terror cells across all city police stations to avert terror threats/attacks.

As a part of its security measures, the police have requested malls and multiplex owners to deploy armed private security personnel. It has also asked the authorities to issue biometric ID cards for all the employees and a thorough background verification be done for the workers in every three years.

The police have requested all city hospitals to set up security at every floor. It has also asked the hospital administration to have a detailed record of everyone staying within the hospital premises.

The hotels have been instructed to appoint patrol staff and install road blockers/steel bollards/boom barriers to prohibit inlet of suspected vehicles. All CCTV footage must be retained for 30 days.
