A man was held in the Golden Valley after he reportedly sold off his rented house to someone else.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office said that John David Seiberling was arrested for fraudulent schemes and theft.

Trish, the new buyer of the house, contacted the Sheriff's Office on Oct. 14 after she and her husband failed to enter the home with keys provided by Seiberling.

The couple had handed Seiberling a $3,000 cashier's check as down payment. “The couple then contacted a name that appeared on the lease, which turned out to be the homeowner,” revealed the authorities.

When contacted, the owner claimed that Seiberling did not have her permission to sell off the home.

“He is being held on $5,000 bond,” as per the authorities.
