A woman from Peoria is out on a hardcore hunt in a quest to win the ultimate hunting championship and prove her worth as an "Extreme Huntress".

Meet Mindy Arthurs, one of four finalists of the "Extreme Huntress" 2014 competition. And as determined as she is in winning the championship, Arthurs plans to go for her kill with full bang.

Arthurs grew passionate about hunting when she pulled her first trigger in 2008, after her husband returned from an elk hunting trip in New Mexico.

"He was all jazzed about it," she said. "I could see that energy and I begged him to get me a gun and he did for my birthday and I started with a successful black bear hunt. I put in for the 'Extreme Huntress' by sending in an essay and photos and now here I am asking Arizona to get behind me."

If Arthurs wins the championship, she will get an all-expenses paid hunting trip to a  place of her choice. Her live expedition would be aired on NBC Sports.
