A teenage girl from Buckeye is likely to be booked under juvenile charges for allegedly abducting her 1-year-old and 8-year-old siblings.
The 16-year-old was left at home, near Culver Street and 189th Avenue, to baby-sit her sisters while their mother was away. Soon after their mother left home, the girl, an unlicensed and amateured driver, jumped into her mother's GMC Yukon with her sisters and drove off without any provisions, according to the officials.
"The girl had threatened suicide last month and was on medication for depression, but she had stopped taking it two days before She was known to become irritated easily by the 1-year-old’s crying and to lash out," the police said.
Sheriff’s deputies rushed to their Buckeye home on Saturday afternoon after receiving a call. Members of the Sheriff's Child Abduction Response Team responded, and at 11:22 p.m. police issued an Amber Alert.
However, the teenager returned to the house with her sisters unharmed. She was arrested and taken for investigation. She is likely to face juvenile charges.
