A Phoenix man shot dead his roommate following an altercation in a North Phoenix home on Sunday night.

Police are investigating the case now.

Officer James Holmes revealed that the investigation is at its nascent stage and very little information is available at this point. However, he confirmed that the deadly shot was triggered by a tiff between the two.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The suspect has been detained.

The shooting took place near 45th and Sweetwater avenues.
