The 19 wildland firefighters who lost their lives one year ago, while trying to douse the blazing fire, will be honoured by the city of Prescott. The family and friends of the brave firefighters will mark the first anniversary of the deaths with a simple ceremony in downtown.

On Monday the ceremony will begin with 19 bell chimes followed by a bagpipe band playing "Amazing Grace" for the deceased heroes.

After that the names of the Granite Mountain Hotshots would be read aloud outside the Yavapai County courthouse.

The family members of the Hotshots have plans to gather at the Prescott cemetery and hold a private service there. Many of the deceased Hotshots have been buried at the Prescott cemetery.

Other activities include a play, an exhibition and a hike to one of the favorite training spots of the Hotshots.

On June 30, 2013 the 19 Hotshots were choked to death while battling the Yarnell Hill Fire, when got trapped in a brush-choked canyon.
