Chinmaya Mission Phoenix is organizing fourth Youth Camp 2016 in Arizona for children aged between four and eighteen. The main idea behind the camp is to help children learn values helpful for them to lead a good life when they grow up. The spring camp for kids and youth is scheduled to happen from 7 March (Monday) 2016 till 11 March 2016 (Friday). Ashokji and Sudhaji from Chinmaya Mission Bakersfield are conducting the camp along with trained Sevaks and Sevikas of Chinmaya Goloka. Chinmaya Mission Phoenix forms an oasis of cultural awakening and learning in the Sonoran desert city of Phoenix, Arizona. The organization aims to teach the wisdom of vedanta and the path to spirituality to all open to such learnings irrespective of the age, right from pre-kindergarten children to adults.

Themes of Youth Camp 2016:

Senior Group (Gr. 6–12): Chariot of Success (Dharmarath)

The theme for the senior group is based on Tulasi Ramayana when Vibhishana was concerned about the safety and welfare of Sri Rama in the great battle field. Vibhishana said, “Oh Lord, how will you be able to conquer this Ravana who is so mighty and well equipped with weapons, who is full of anger and revenge.” Replying to this, Lord Rama said, “The chariot which leads one to victory is quite another. Valor and fortitude are the wheels, truthfulness and good conduct are its banner, strength, direction, self-control, and benevolence are its four horses.”

Junior Group (Gr. PreK–5): Hindu Festivals

The theme for junior group is Hindu festival, which is a joyful synthesis of spirituality, philosophy, religion culture and social values. The idea behind the theme is to teach children the significance and symbolism of Hindu Festivals, which are to be celebrated at home to bind the family as well as temples to bind the community. The event promises to be a fun-filled week.

Registration Fee for the Chinmaya Mission Phoenix Youth Camp 2016

Before 31 January 2016, the fee for registration includes $160 per child and after that it is $175 per child. The fee includes lunch, all arts and crafts material, lunch, juice and snack, along with supervision before and after camp hours.
