The officials in Peoria city said, they are investigating the death of an infant, who was dies after being left in car in the city.
Officer Brandon Sheffert, a Peoria police spokesman, said that, a 5-month-old boy was rushed to a hospital around 2:45 p.m. after he was found not breathing inside a vehicle. The car was parked in an apartment complex in the 8500 block of Peoria Avenue.
According to the authorities, the 5-month-old was later pronounced dead. Preliminary information indicates the infant may have been left in a vehicle for "several hours," but the exact amount of time is not immediately known.
Brandon Sheffert said that, "The child wasn't breathing upon our arrival." "At that point, the child was transported to the hospital where the little boy was pronounced dead."
One of two caretakers and a neighbor called 911 after realizing that the baby was inside a car. The investigation is ongoing. Sheffert said that, two people who were caring for the child were arrested, but no further details were released.
