Glendale police sergeant named 'Angel of the Year'!

The Glendale Police sergeant Jeff Turney has been named an "Angel of the Year" at Angels on Patrol's third annual Halos & Holsters Dinner and Auction in Scottsdale.

Angels on Patrol angelsonpatrol.org.  is Valley-wide organization which provides resources to families and children in need as identified by police officers.

The award was presented on November 19 at FireSky Resort & Spa. The organization recognized Sgt. Turney for his dedication to his community.

Turney work with the group in helping families in crisis and spreading the word to other officers at the Glendale Police Department about the resources available to them from Angels on Patrol.

Turney said that, "I am honored to have been chosen as Glendale's 'Angel of the Year,' but the true angels are the individuals who are a part of this organization."

"They have assisted me and many other officers on numerous occasions. Officers cannot do this job alone, when we all work together and we have the support of the communities and businesses there isn't anything we can't accomplish... That is community policing at its best.”

"Thank you Angels on Patrol for being there when we call!"
