According to the Guru Nanak Dwara website
In 1972, the Phoenix Sangat built the first Guru Nanak Dwara Gurdwara which served the fastest growing community for many years. In 1996, construction began for a new Gurdwara on land owned by Sikh Dharma of Phoenix behind the original Gurdwara structure. Building the new Gurdwara has created a spirit of generosity. With its beautiful scalloped arches and etched glass windows, the new building is an inspiration to many visitors from all over the world.
After completing the Gurdwara will include an expanded sanctuary for the main Gurdwara services, a mezzanine level with Akhand Path room and a lower level will house the kitchen and langar hall. In addition, the facility will have an outdoor patio area and Parkarma walkway around the building. At present, the Sangat only celebrates special occasions such as Gurpurbs in the new building. Finishing the new Gurdwara will allow the entire Sadh Sangat to fit inside the main hall and langar hall together for all sacred events.
Supporting the project:
The Sikh Dharma of Phoenix is in the last phase of construction towards completing this beautiful new Gurdwara Sahib; the new Gurdwara will be much larger and better able to serve the Sangat. This gurdwara is one of the jewels of Sikh Dharma and part of the legacy of the Siri Singh Sahib; a legacy where all Sikhs join to live, work and serve humanity together.
