Attendance At Arizona State Fair Over A Million, Dips From Last Year Though

According to reports, the Arizona State Fair attendance at this year's fair, reached above 1.1 million mark. Though it dipped from last years’s count, with a slight margin. But the profits soared high.

A total of 1,136,702 people could come in, to the Arizona State Fairgrounds.The State fair venue for this year’s Arizona State Fair was near 19th Avenue and McDowell Road. This state fair occurred between Oct 6-29 2017, according to a media release.

In 2016, 1,144,627 people went to the fair which was slightly higher than what happened in 2017. That is 7,925 people more than 2017 attendees. This decrease is believed to be a due to high temperatures even during this time, according to Fair officials.

Despite lesser number of people, the fair organizers said that average revenues were "up slightly across the board."

Around 100,000 people attended the free concert at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. DNCE, Snoop Dogg, Billy Currington, Halestorm, Rick Springfield and Gin Blossoms were some of the stunning artists who performed and for which attendees were enthusiastic about.

More than 10,000 students also participated in the fair's "read and ride" program. This program rewarded them with ride tickets for books read. In 2016 slight higher, around 10,762 students had participated.

A total of 90,939 pounds of food was collected for St. Mary's Food Bank

During the "We Care Wednesday's" promotion around 90939 lbs of food was collected for St. Mary’s Food Bank.
