A group of 163 undocumented migrants, chiefly from Central America, was found Saturday in a desert area in southwest Arizona, according to the United States Customs and Border Protection.
According to officials, Border Patrol agents spotted the large group several miles west of Lukeville, near the Arizona-Mexico border.
The group comprised of people from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador, according to the agency.
Five of the 163 people were identified by agents as having been earlier removed from the United States, officials said in a press release. According to the release, the group included children, the youngest 4 months old.
Everyone in the group was medically evaluated by Border Patrol agents and saved in good health, officials said.
In order to process them for immigration violations, they were taken to the Ajo Border Patrol Station.
