Quantum Computing is the future and will enable new discoveries in health care, energy, environment sectors. Microsoft is merging quantum computing to cloud with Azure Quantum.
Microsoft on Monday has announced a new program that would take India to the next level with quantum computing skills and capabilities being introduced to 900 faculty members in top institutes of the country.
Quantum computing will enable new discoveries in the healthcare, energy, environment and other sectors and Microsoft will train the academicians with quantum computing skills and capabilities for the quantum future with cloud called as Azure Quantum.
As a part of this initiative, Microsoft Garage is organizing a virtual ‘Train the Trainer’ programme from August 24 to 29 this year in collaboration with Electronics and ICT academies at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur and also the National Institute of Technology, Patna.
The programme is all set to train 900 academicians from the top institutes of India through Electronics and ICT Academies at IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkie, MNIT Jaipur, NIT Patna, NIT Warangal and IIT-D Jabalpur.
Through this programme, Microsoft will train the candidates in quantum at scale which has the potential to trigger the new frontier of innovation and shaping the future of IT industry in the country.
The quantum training programme supports an initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to enhance the skills of students in imparting next level technological skills for the future generations.
Key themes of this programme for 5 days would include an introduction to quantum information, concepts such as superposition and entanglement, processing of information using qubits and quantum gates, and also an introduction to quantum machine learning and quantum programming.
Microsoft Garage India directror, Reena Dayal said that through this initiative the company wants to equip India with the necessary knowledge to develop a quantum learning curriculum in their institutions across the country and help develop these skills into the brightest minds of India.
Microsoft’s Azure Quantum is an open cloud eco system which enables the developers to access diverse quantum software, hardware and solutions from the company and its partners.
