There are several aspiring Indians who have been in waiting mode for the Green cards and permanent visas. The latest update says that the Indians can jump the backlog queue by paying a supplement fee and obtain permanent visas. The children of H-1B holders who turned 21 years will also have a chance to obtain permanent residency along with US citizenship as per the Reconciliation Bill that is announced by the US House Judiciary Committee. This bill will not seek to eliminate the caps for green cards for countries and the annual quota for H-1B visas will not increase.

These amendments will allow the Indians to seek a waiver in the green card backlogs by paying a super fee of 5000 USD when they file their final adjustment of the status applications to get the green card. US every year sets aside 1.40 lakh green cards for the applicants who are in the country for employment. There is a 7 percent cap per country. With a lot of Indians rushing to the USA, the green card process has been delayed by years. Several youngsters have been in waiting mode for the past 8-10 years.
