After the world is shattered by the coronavirus pandemic, there are lot of new viruses and diseases emerging. The United States of America reported the first case of Monkeypox. The virus was detected from a man based in Massachusetts and he traveled to Canada recently. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicts that there is a possibility of more cases to be traced or found. The man traveled to Canada in April to meet his friends and he returned back in May. Last year, monkeypox cases have been reported in Texas and Maryland.

The cases of monkeypox are also reported in Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom. The contact tracing for the man who is tested with monkeypox is going on and the CDC did not reveal about the identity of this man and his close contacts. It is a fatal disease and one among ten cases will have severe symptoms and it can also lead to death. It brings flu-like illness and there would be swelling of the lymph nodes and rashes on the body and face. Monkeypox was common Africa and the people were infected through bites from rodents and small animals. The disease does not spread widely among the people. Most of the cases are found in gays or bisexual men. The vaccine for smallpox works for monkeypox.
