ISRO announces Chandrayan 3 Launch Date

On Thursday, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced the Chandrayaan3 launch date. The moon mission will be launched on the 14th of July at 2:35 PM from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh carrying an integrated module.

Chadrayaan3 is a landmark moment for Indians. ISRO is expecting the landing dates to be on August 23rd or 24th, daytime, as where the scientists will have time for 14-15 days on Earth to work, which is one lunar day (i.e., earth 14 days will be one lunar day). If landing miss the date, they are going to wait for more than fifteen days and land in September. After the sun set there will be no power for the lander and rover to function. After the sunrise, they are going to recharge themselves.

After landing on the moon, Pragyan slides out from Vikram and will start moving in the lunar space with the wheels and capture the surface with the camera.

Chadrayaan2 was launched in 2019. Chadrayaan 3 follows Chadrayaan 2. Chadrayaan2 carried the orbiter, rover (Pragyan) along with Vikram. Chadrayaan3 carries three modules, propulsion, lander and rover.

SpaceCraft will weigh 3900 Kg
The propulsion module weighs 2148 Kg
Lander Module and rover weigh 1752kg
