The worst Dengue outbreak is creating tremors in Bangladesh. Nearly 209,000 infections have been reported in 2023. Bangladesh hospitals are struggling to accommodate patients suffering from dengue and the infection is spreading rapidly in the densely populated country.

As per reports, more than 1000 died in 2023 with the dengue outbreak, which is four times more than last year. 1,017 people have reportedly died in 2023. Among the dead, 112 were children under 15 years, including infants. In South Asian countries Dengue is widely spreading and Bangladesh is the worst affected.

Dengue causes high fevers, headaches, nausea, vomiting, and muscle pain and in some serious cases, the patient can also bleed, which will lead to death. Dengue is an endemic disease. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has already warned about mosquito-borne virus diseases such as Chikungunya, Yellow Fever, Dengue and Zika.

Sadly, there is no vaccine or medicine for Dengue, which will treat the disease specifically. Normally in tropical regions between June to September, mosquito-spread diseases will be detected because of the stagnant water. Patients are also at high risk of repeated infections. According to Al Jazeera, Bangladesh is taking all necessary precautions, but the outbreak is the worst.
