Today the Karnataka High Court has given its judgement on Tamil Nadu former CM Jayalalithaa's appeal over the verdict by a lower court in disproportionate assets case. Following the judgement, she has issued a statement thanking all her fans, people of Tamil Nadu, in which she said justice has been restored.
Some of the points of her statement on the English translation would be:
"The Karnataka High Court judgement gives me immense satisfaction.This judgment confirms that I have not committed any wrong. The accusations leveled against me by political opponents have been wiped away by this verdict. This judgement shows that I have not committed any wrong. This verdict has facilitated me to emerge as gold further refined by fire. This is God's boon for people of Tamil Nadu who had prayed for me incessantly after the lower court's verdict. I don’t consider this judgement as a personal victory me. Justice has been restored.
Justice and honesty will win finally, while the conspiracies would show off for short duration. The opponents just tried to destroy my party and me, but truth alone won. I am thankful to the people of Tamil Nadu for offering prayers and party members for believing in my honesty.
I have always believed that people of Tamil Nadu should get everything. I will always strive to work for the people on Tamil Nadu."
Following the judgement squashing the verdict of lower court, the state has got the festival mood and they all have been expecting Jayalalithaa to take over the Chief Ministry. But, Selvi J.Jayalalithaa has to contest the election once again to become a member of state legislature. She had represented the Srirangam Assembly constituency which fell vacant from the date of her conviction on September 27.
