Gurudas Kamat, Congress general secretary, has questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose Smriti Irani as Human Resource Development Minister, marking on her qualifications.

Campaigning for the municipal elections, Kamat hit out Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Smriti Irani during a two-day tour of five Rajasthan districts. Kamat said Modi chose 'uneducated' Irani in Council of Minister because of some 'self interest'. Kamat also compared Modi to Hitler.

"Her (Irani) family's financial condition was not good; therefore, she worked in a hotel in Versova. Since, Smriti was only 10th pass, she cleaned tables in the hotel," Kamat said.

Modi was accused of being more interested in TV serials rather than addressing farmer’s plights, by the Congress' general secretary in-charge of Rajasthan.
