Director Abhishek Chaubey has done enough analysis before penning the script of his upcoming movie Udta Punjab. The trailer of the movie created enough buzz on the film and it reveals about the youth in Punjab who have been getting addicted to drugs. The film is said to be a thriller and it features Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh played the lead roles in the movie.
The movie faced many problems from the censor board and it has been passed on with 85 cuts. Now the latest news we hear is that Film Certification Appelate Tribunal (FCAT) objected the name Punjab in the title of the film. They felt that as the movie deals with drugs and mafia, the name Punjab should be dropped as it may tarnish the image of the state.
Trade experts revealed that the movie’s title will not have much impact on the box-office collections however the audience may get confused as the title already reached every corner of the country. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films, Udta Punjab has been slated for release on June 17th all over.
