Fake accounts on social media platforms are nothing bizarre. You could be sometimes surprised seeing celebs amassing heaps of followers on their Instagram or Facebook handles, but what if I say you half of those follower accounts are fake.
Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, who currently has 37.9 million and 43.6 million followers on Instagram respectively, are among the 10 celebrities who have maximum numbers of followers or "bots" on Instagram.
According to an analysis from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), Deepika is in the sixth place on fake followers’ list with 48 percent followers emerging fake.
Priyanka secured 10th place on the list as 46 percent of the actresses’ Instagram followers appeared fake.

Apart from these Indian actors, the list includes American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres with 58 percent of fake Instagram followers, followed by boy band BTS emerging with 48 percent fake followers on the Facebook-owned photo-sharing platform.
Kourtney Kardashian secured the third spot in the list with 49 percent, while Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian both had 44 percent fake followers on Instagram.
Katy Perry, who currently has 83.6 million Instagram followers, is in the list with 53 percent of the fake Instagram follower. Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande are also ranked high for bots.
