Before he married Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor was often in the limelight for his romantic relationships. The actor also dated Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif in the past though there were no official statements or announcements made. Ranbir recently spoke about being labeled a 'casanova' and a 'cheat' for dating two successful actresses. In the trailer of Nikhil Kamado's talk show People by WTF, Ranbir talked about his past relationships without naming them. "Of course I dated two very successful actresses, but that became my identity and I got the image of a Casanova," he said. "For most of my life I have been labeled a fraud and I still am" admitted the actor. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone met on the sets of Bachna E Haseeno in 2008 and they soon started dating. A year later, the couple separated. Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor reportedly dated in 2009 during the filming of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and dated for six months before breaking up between 2015 and 2016. They were together for a year.

All three stars are now happily married. Deepika Padukone married Ranveer Singh in November 2018. The couple is expecting their first child in September this year. Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal got married in December 2021. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's intimate wedding took place in 2022. Both of the girl's parents are divorced. Coming back to the trailer, in the same video, Ranbir Kapoor also spoke about his relationship with his father, legendary actor Rishi Kapoor. He said: “My father had a short temper, but he was a very good person. I've never seen that color in his eyes. I've always been like that. I was 'yes'. I never said no," added Ranbir Kapoor. About the birth of his daughter Raha, "It's like someone has taken your heart out and put it in their hands. I think Raha sees Alia (Bhatt) as a part of herself. She is looking for masti and fun with me" told the Animal star.

Ranbir Kapoor also spoke about how he found it difficult to express his feelings. “I don’t express my feelings, I don’t mind about the treatment,” he said.
