IMF Chief Hails India’s Prospective ahead Meeting PM ModiBusiness News

Ahead of meeting Indian Prime Minister, IMF Chief Christine Lagarde praised India’s new policies aiming at higher growth and stability. She said India has the better opportunities to become one of the world’s most dynamic economies.

She expressed her positive note on the reformation process by the new government in India, as inflation came down and GDP growth going up. Her note included that fall in global market for crude oil also pegged India to gain the benefit.

The former finance minister of French government, Lagarde welcomed the government`s first full budget last month for striking "a good growth-equity balance" and praised Modi`s drive to make India a major manufacturing hub and an easier place to do business. She also outlined some areas where the government has to facilitate the investors to raise.

She suggested more open type market to catch the world’s potential and to provide more jobs in different sectors. In her two day visit, she will meet PM modi and other top leaders including the finance minister Arun Jaitley.

"She (Lagarde) will be in Delhi on March the 16th, and then be moving down to Mumbai on March the 17th. She'll have a couple of speeches and remarks and presentations at those events," Assistant Director and Mission Chief for India in the IMF's Asian and Pacific Department, Paul Cashin said.

The decrease in the crude oil prices, and increase in the investment by foreign firms, and the corporate friendly decisions by the Modi government projecting India as Business friendly and prospective destination for investors.
